Ten Reasons the United States Should Not Have Government Controlled Healthcare

  1. Government Control: United States Postal Service is constantly being subsidized or bailed out with our tax dollars because they can't manage a budget. But why should they, they know that we'll bail them out and then they can raise the cost of a stamp.
  2. Government Healthcare: Medicare/Medicaid could be the biggest boondoggle of all time. According to the White House and Congress, $90,000,000,000 (ninety Billion) in fraud every year and the government has done nothing to stem the flow theft. Some say that this program will run a deficit of $35,000,000,000,000 (thirty five Trillion) in the next ten years.
  3. Government Retirement: Social Security will run out of money before all of the baby-boomers retire. But, that's OK because they will just keep raising taxes any borrowing Chinese dollars to cover the shortfall. WHY? Because congress couldn't keep their hands off of the money.
  4. Government Oversight: SEC a.k.a. the Securities Exchange Commission is suppose to police fraud on Wall Street and yet Bernie Made-Off with Billions and so did many others. How much of that did you get? $0.00
  5. Government Entities: Freddy Mac and Fannie Mae, they forgot that their role was to SECURE mortgages for the credit worthy. Instead, they thought they were a socialist organization with the directive to make sure everybody regardless of income or credit worthiness bought a home. And, as a result our economy built on the promise that people would pay their bills, is in the crapper. I lost my job because the bank decided they were not going to lend any more money. This was a direct result of the sub-prime fiasco.
  6. Government Fix: Subsequent to the bonehead lending practices, our government passed a bailout bill. How's that working for you? I didn't see a dime of that money because the government doesn't trust you and me to spend money. The government prefers to give it to the companies that got us into this situation. "This will ensure that unemployment doesn't go above eight percent"….OOPS! IT'S TEN%!
  7. Government Intervention: The government is telling us that the Swine Flu is the greatest danger to our lives and we all need to get inoculated or die. And yet, you can't get a vaccine because the government got involved. If you let the vaccine makers control pricing and distribution, sure we'd all pay a little more but, you'd have you immunity.
  8. Government Management: Love New Orleans! However, it would have been cheaper to move the entire city 20 miles north so that it was no longer in a swamp. Not kidding! And yet, ask anyone in New Orleans if they're happy with what the government has done?……NOPE! Dear US Government, "Nawlins" is in a hurricane prone, below sea level, poverty, theft, and murder prone swamp. And, this is where we spend our money?
  9. Government Interference: Contrary to all of the proponents of healthcare…we already have the best healthcare in the world. OK, if it was free, it would be better but, so would cars, houses, boats and divorces. Free is good, but if you're asking GM to build you a car for free, just how well built do you think that car would be? The free market and competition is why we have the best of everything in America.
  10. Success in spite of the Government: The military….we do that well! Sure we do. We have the best military in the world and we have had the best military ever since George and the boys crossed the Delaware. But, this isn't because we over pay for hammers and toilet seats. It's because we have the finest soldiers in the world and a free market economy that they fight to protect everyday.

We need less government interference in our lives, not more. Every aspect of our lives that is touched by the government is fraught with inefficiency and cost overrun. We all love being Americans, but we love the lack of government in our daily lives. What's next after healthcare? Free transportation, free houses, free boats, shovel the snow off my driveway for free or maybe even free divorces? Now we're talkin', we're talkin' socialism.

OH Yeah! We're already Trillions and Trillions in debt; we don't need new costly programs of any type.
