ACORN doesn't fall far from the President's tree

The group known as ACORN started in 1970 to help poor folks in Arkansas. As they realized helping the poor could be profitable they took their show on the road and became a large national organization. They are a multibillion dollar business dedicated to helping the poor. Well that's what they would have you believe anyway. Housing and Urban Development has given ACORN $42 million since the 2000 budget year. ACORN had received more than $53 million in federal money since 1994. ACORN doesn't file anything available publicly with the Internal Revenue Service detailing its financial activities. Some of its Branches do, but those reports don't remotely cover the money ACORN gets or what it does with their Money.

ACORN who gets it funding from the government (that's you and me), openly supported Barrack Hussein Obama in the last presidential election even though they are suppose to be impartial. A video put on YouTube just before the November election, ACORN's leader told New Yorkers to "vote for Barack Obama." A government funded agency should not be political, but they not only supported BHO, they were found to have committed voter fraud by registering such notables as Mickey Mouse. Furthermore they bussed people from Indiana and Illinois to Ohio to vote for BHO, since Ohio has a same day voter registration these alien were registered and voted. Barrack Hussein Obama's presidential campaign gave ACORN over $700,000 to help get elected.

If you think committing voter fraud is bad, well it's the tip of the tree top for ACORN. Acorns founder's brother embezzled $1 million and was given a pass by ACORN. Dale Rathke stole around $948,000 from the organization in 1999 and 2000, and the Founder Wade Rathke became aware of it in 2000. It wasn't reported to law enforcement. Dale Rathke was removed from a leadership position in 2000. He and Wade Rathke were fired last year, and an anonymous donor compensated ACORN for the missing money. Remember this money is money that we gave to ACORN and they made a decision to not prosecute.

The latest, A 25 year old videographer with the help of a 20 year old female walked into an ACORN-Brooklyn NY office posing as a pimp and prostitute wanting to buy a house for a brothel. Acorn employees advised them to lie so that they could get housing aid, while other ACORN locations advised the pimp and prostitute on tax and banking issues. When they told the employees they wanted to bring in 13 year old sex slaves from El Salvador, the ACORN employees offered no objections; they simply offered advice about immigration issues.

Democrats who formerly bragged about their relationship with ACORN are finally getting it right by voting to cut off the $8.4 billion dollars of stimulus money slated to go to ACORN in both the Senate and the House. What does this mean? Well, probably nothing since the president would have to sign a bill into law to prevent these funds from being distributed to ACORN. Oh yea, did I mention that ACORN helped get BHO elected and in-fact, BHO is a former ACORN attorney. BHO was asked by George Stephanopoulos this weekend about ACORN. BHO said, "This is not an issue he knows anything about and he didn't think it was important enough for him to spend any time on this issue." WAIT-A-MINUTE…..We're about to give this ACORN organization $8.4 Billion (with a B), and this doesn't rise to the level of concern for BHO. $8.4 billion and he weren't even aware they were going to get that much money and he said he has larger fish to fry. BHO said, "It's not something I'm paying a lot of attention too."

Maybe Barrack Hussein Obama doesn't think this is important but; Thank God congress does and voted to stop funding. The State of Louisiana has subpoenaed Louisiana based ACORN's books to look for irregularities. White House press secretary Robert Gibbs called the conduct in the videos completely unacceptable. John Podesta is on an ACORN advisory panel working to clean up the mess. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger wants criminal probes of ACORN. The Census Bureau this month cut ties with ACORN for the 2010 census. Citizens Against Government Waste, called senators who voted to continue financing ACORN the "September Porkers of the Month." New York Gov. David Paterson on Friday ordered state agencies to examine contracts with ACORN and place holds on them in the meantime. Voter registration fraud cases involving ACORN workers are pending. `HUD's inspector general has acknowledged an investigation is under way. The Census Bureau cancelled its 2010 contract with ACORN.

Even though this doesn't interest the President at least some others are thinking about it.

President B. H. Obama said "I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career, even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work."
